Leadership isn’t words, it’s actions. Like faith, it’s not about what we say—it’s what we do. Anyone who demands submission is not a good leader. Good leaders always hold the needs of those they lead above their own needs. Stop chasing respect and power.

Show notes:

What does servant leadership look like?
Perfect world examples of servant leadership: police, fire fighter, lawmakers. Supposed to only serve the community and make other people’s lives better.
Luke 22:24-30 Glory comes later, right now our job is to serve without pride.
John 13 says Jesus knew the time had come for Him to leave the world and go to the Father. He now shows them the full extent of His love—He washes His friends’ feet, then asks them what He just did for them. He’s setting an example.
Leadership is not lording power over someone, and it’s not seeking power because a lack within self
Like the boss vs. leader comic: The boss is sitting on the stone whipping the workers. The leader is down in the mud pulling along with the workers.
Leadership isn’t words, it’s actions. Like faith, it’s not about what we say, it’s what we do.
Anyone who demands submission isn’t a good leader.
Stop chasing respect and power. They may come when we love, but either way we’ve got to put that aside and obey our servant leader, Jesus.
We want to follow experienced leaders, not naive leaders.
We also want leaders who really meet someone else’s needs above their own.
