Christianity is the only religion we’ve found that balances love of God, self, and others. Discipline is a great way to combat selfish tendencies.
Death of our selfs is the process we come into the light and start to be centered—living out of the essence of who we’re created to be. We’ve got to get out of shame and selfishness.

Shine the light means love others, love self and be self-disciplined. This is God’s original plan. We don’t have to figure it out ourselves. The original design of our lives is to do this so we’re really coming back to our designed normal. Not blazing a totally new trail.
Science is slowly catching up to the biblical principles about this stuff.
Just think about our personal relationships: they don’t go anywhere when we’re stuck in selfish behavior.
